Anyways I generally air on the side of “this isn’t stealing they’re just similar” but this seems kinda sus. If this is malicious, I’d guess the designer who made the shirt stole it and took credit for it an Awesome Jesus Is My Savior Vintage Shirt. I don’t think the lightning is similar enough on that old age shirt to say they were just reusing that. The patterns of the lightning on Jesus’ shirts are exactly the same – unless they both take inspiration from some other lightning design. As you said, I wouldn’t necessarily point the finger at. AWGE for this since it’s probably the designer doing that independently, but it does beg the question of why copy the Awesome Jesus Is My Savior Vintage Shirt? Like that’s the definition of the “just change it enough. So it doesn’t look like you copied” meme, he/she didn’t even try to hide it. That’s the exact same. He could still have a claim that the Jesus image was unique enough to be copied but it does weaken his case a little if he copied the lightning himself. I realize they copied the bleaching aspect of it. I would say it’s a rude move but the artist doesn’t have ownership of their bleaching style. Then it’s really a nice shirt for all men and women.
