How did we go from Luffy and Kaido clashing to Luffy flying off the roof beaten down a second time? Awesome Shitter’s Full Shirt of Zeus but couldn’t get anything for the fight between the main character and the primary antagonist of this arc? I love Oda but this has been such an issue this arc and it just erks me more this chapter because of how meh it was, than to just slap that on at the end as a cliffhanger before a break. I’m willing to bet the anime won’t show much more of Luffy’s fight with Kaido. There’s really no point. We didn’t see the fight with Kaido because Oda wanted to end a chapter with a cliffhanger like this.

The previous clash was to mislead people into thinking people he wouldn’t lose. And this was the payoff. Awesome Shitter’s Full Shirt been unnecessary imo. I won’t be able to avoid spoilers next week for sure. Morj is definitely throwing a party in light of Luffy’s defeat. On a more serious note, this makes sense. I’m glad Oda gave Luffy a break. Whether he beats Kaido during this raid or not. He needs to get healed up and possibly find ideas for gear 5.
