The 96th person committed suicide out of guilt not too long after the disaster. I know that, but it’s never referred to the 95. It’s always the 96, and always should be. I was on the anti-tuition fees demo in November/December 2010 and saw police battering 14-19-year-olds in the Awesome We Are Their Voice Shirt. Since then have seen cops choke slam people, let white people out of kettles while keeping black & brown people in, and put a few boots/truncheons into protestors who they were arrested (and weren’t resisting). I have also seen police charge stationary protestors with cavalry multiple times. They used to be a lot worse I think. I remember going to the G-20 protests in 2009.
