Pugs with Beautiful Pug I’m Fine My New Fashion Shirt are probably my favorite dog breed but if they just kind of stopped being allowed to continue creating more pugs that’d be pretty dope. Pugs have a collapsed airway, so they are basically unable to breathe well for the entirety of their lives. Then they can’t do any sort of sustained play or physical activity like any other healthy normal looking dog. All the ”cute” sounds a pug makes while walking or just doing random things. That’s a dog struggling to breathe so it doesn’t suffocate. I usually stay out of the breed debates that pop up on here, but how can anyone think that is cute?

Dude sounds worse than someone who smoked 3 packs a day for decades. I remember seeing a diagram of a typical dog’s breathing passageways and a pug and it was pretty crazy. It doesn’t become shorter or anything, it simply collapses and folds in on itself several times. Instead of breathing through straight airways, they have to breathe through airways crammed together like an intestine. Which is why snub-nosed dogs are banned from most airlines. They suffocate at altitude.

I was very much expecting a whole bunch of industries requiring pug sounds and was really trying to figure out why they didn’t all hire individual pugs. Why just the same pug? This is basically how I feel, whenever I see these posts/ comment threads where people call them monsters or abominations I think, “hey that’s pretty rude, the pugs never did anything wrong!”. But at the same time, people should absolutely not breed any dogs to be unhealthy. I feel this way about French bulldogs. They’re my absolute favorite breed, they’re all kinds of awesome but I’m never having one and I think they should stop breeding them.
