Cats don’t age linearly when compared to humans with Good Cat Mom Daisy Flowers Shirt. The first year of their life is more like 14-15 human years, the second one is equivalent to about 6-7 years and from there on they age about 4 years per human year. So 18 months for a senior cat is about 6 years. I have a guard cat that growls every time there’s a knock on the door, too. The only thing I’d disagree with is the cats psychologically living the same day over and over – our cats know time almost down to the few minutes before they are fed by their robot friend (automatic feeder) and one of our cats knows the sound I make right before I roll over in bed to sleep (put in my mouth guard) and moves up to snuggle with me. I think they can understand patterns but that we’ll probably never know how they understand life as a whole. I do wish our rescued female cat a happy mother’s day every year because she was found as a stray with her 4 kittens…I’m going to pretend that she appreciates that acknowledgment.

Welp, reading this over, turns out I’m a cat lady. My cat is perfectly fine in the eyes department but she was a feral kitten I took in. Her life outdoors made an absolute scaredy-cat, I’m the only thing that moves on earth that she trusts. She injured her front leg about a month ago and just tonight knocked a picture over while climbing up to a curio cabinet, freaked and jumped straight to the floor, all 6 and a half feet. Luckily I think her leg was all healed up because she’s not limping.
