Teen Wolf was a huge hit and the man has gone on to produce other really great shows. If anything it’ll all come down to the actors they manage to get and how good they nail Arlong Park. The rest of East Blue is so tame that I think any competent crew should breeze by it and make it successful. But Arlong Park is where the story really blows up and starts introducing more and more concepts, not to mention the CGI it’s gonna take to make some good Fishman. Since it’s Netflix who’s gonna be doing it, I think it might vary wildly from the source material to attract a more mainstream audience.

For example all the weirdness and quirkiness of the character designs in the manga; I just don’t see how they can pull that off with heights of characters ranging from 1.7m to 180m and more. They’d basically have to CGI all of that to a degree where one wonders if you could even call that live-action anymore. In short, they’re gonna make a ton of changes, and hardcore nerds like us are gonna dislike it since we approach it with specific expectations.
