The cheapest not totally free machine was $200 for my Vinson. It needed a whole motor. Rings were shot, cracked head and the starter gear inside the case had this weird issue that needed a whole case half. Bought a running motor and tranny off eBay for $500. But my favorite one is my can am. It wasn’t cheap really. It was under MSRP and its the best machine I’ve ever owned. So while I didn’t save a ton of money or follow anything in the article you posted, I feel like its the best deal I’ve made. Buy once, cry once. I don’t want someone else headache anymore. I did exactly what the article said not to.

Bought brand new and on a loan, but under MSRP. Best decision I have made. In 10 years, I’ve had to replace a starter solenoid and wear items. Most of my friends have bought rat out shitboxes off of craigslist. That needs to be working on the whole time we’re out somewhere instead of riding.
